Whole Community Connection (WCC) provides grant funding and leadership training to teams of community members from Edgecombe or Robeson County and full-time UNC-Chapel Hill faculty or researchers.

How Whole Community Connection Works:

  • Identify barriers to health equity in rural communities
  • Issue an open call for ideas/applications
  • Award community-academic partnerships with a $45,000 grant to implement their projects
  • Provide Relational Leadership and Equity Centered Leadership training via intensives and continuous education
  • Provide support from a UNC Interprofessional Student Team
  • Provide additional coaching, mentoring, and more
  • Build health equity across NC through community voice and participation
