Whole Community Connection (WCC) provides grant funding and leadership training to teams of community members from Edgecombe or Robeson County and full-time UNC-Chapel Hill faculty or researchers.
How Whole Community Connection Works:
- Identify barriers to health equity in rural communities
- Issue an open call for ideas/applications
- Award community-academic partnerships with a $45,000 grant to implement their projects
- Provide Relational Leadership and Equity Centered Leadership training via intensives and continuous education
- Provide support from a UNC Interprofessional Student Team
- Provide additional coaching, mentoring, and more
- Build health equity across NC through community voice and participation
