Are you a provider working within Robeson County and looking for ways to enhance your skills to help support families and fellow co-workers?
In the same way CPR training equips an individual to intervene in the event of a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid (MHA) equips participants to assist when someone is experiencing a mental health or substance use related challenge.
This 8-hour course is available to those who desire to increase their capacity to identify, understand, and provide initial help and support in both crisis and non-crisis situations. MHFA also teaches the importance of recovery and resilience.
What to expect:
- Learn how to reach out to someone struggling, listen without judgement, and give reassurance.
- Take the fear and hesitation out of conversations about mental health and substance use.
- Understand how to refer a person to appropriate professional support and services.
